Car Hire Conditions

Age Requirement
Minimum age 21 years
Maximum age 70 years

Rental Over 70 years
For drivers between 71 - 75 years the presentation of a medical certificate to the rental representative is imperative.

Drivers
Only the renter or other persons approved by our company are permitted to drive the car.

Minimum rental period
3 days
Unlimited Mileage
All rentals, irrespective of the length of rental are inclusive of unlimited mileage.

Traffic Contraventions
All contraventions (i.e. Traffic fines, clamping, etc) incurred during the rental period will be the renter's responsibility.

Street Directories/Maps
Free maps are available to clients with every rental.

Breakdown Service
In the event of a breakdown and/or collision we offer a 24 hour emergency road service.

Baby Seats
Baby seats are available at a additional charge of € 2.50 daily . State age of child.

Delivery and Collection
Car deliveries and collections are made free of charge during office hours with any location in Malta with the exception of the Airport or Harbor Terminal which are subject to an additional fee of €19 for both ways.

Additional Driver
Additional drivers may be inserted in the rental agreement at an additional charge of € 2.50 daily.

Amendments
Reservations can be amended without charge. Please direct all communications to our office or star@global.net.mt quoting the booking reference.

Office Hours
Office hours are Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Sunday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Fleet
Car Groups/Models: All booking are confirmed by group and vehicles supplied may be a different make and model to that advertised. In such cases we reserve the right to have a vehicle of similar size/specification supplied
FUEL POLICY - If the car is not returned as consigned, the cost of the refuelling will be debited from the card at the prevailing rate. This is done immediately on collection of vehicle. The hirer may at his option purchase fuel in advance depending on duration of hire.
GOZO FERRY CROSSING - All cars are permitted to be driven in Gozo ( our neighbouring island . Ferry fees are paid direct to GOZO CHANNEL LINE on embarking to return to Malta.
SECURITY DEPOSIT - For Parking fines and/or excess we need driver’s credit card number.
PAYMENT TERMS - Rental Charges are payable in full on date of vehicle delivery.
MILEAGE - Unlimited in Malta and Gozo
DRIVING LICENCE - Driver is to provide a fully valid driving licence which has been held for at least 2 years at time of rental. Local or International licence are both accepted.

INCLUSIVE
All vehicles carry a Comprehensive Insurance cover with an excess liability of €230 on claiming accident damage, fire and theft.

UNLIMITED MILEAGE - All our rates include unlimited mileage and vehicles can be driven only in the Maltese Islands.

VAT TAX - 18% Vat and other taxes are already included in hire charges.

INSURANCE
Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Damage Waiver is an optional cover to relieve the renter from part of excess €230. This is available @ 6 euros per day and this leaves a €58 responsibility. Car hire must be over 3 days, and persons renting must be over 25 year and not over 75 years. From the age of 21 - 24 year old renter’s excess remains €580.

Additional Driver Insurance is optional €2.30 per day to cover 1 extra driver over 25 years old.

All extra options are inclusive of VAT and other taxes!

Airport delivery - €12 ( 24 hrs ) // Airport drop off- €12 ( 24 hrs)

Both airport delivery and drop-off - €19 ( 24 hrs )

All renters must however present a driving license, a valid credit card as a security against the non-waivable excess and any eventual parking contraventions.

Cancellation Policy
A full refund equivalent to any deposit and charges prepaid will be issued upon cancellation of a booking if the notification to cancel is received at least 10 days in advance of the hire commencement date. If cancellation is received within the 10 days immediately prior to the hire commencement date we reserve the right to impose a cancellation fee.
